Video is often treated as promotional decoration. For an independent funeral home, its strongest use is quieter: helping a person understand who will answer, what the funeral home feels like and what will happen next.
Start with the funeral director
A short introduction from the owner or funeral director can be more valuable than a polished corporate advert. The person should speak naturally, use plain language and avoid memorised sales claims.
Show familiar surroundings
A gentle tour of the arrangement room, entrance, parking or chapel can reduce uncertainty before a visit. The purpose is familiarity, not spectacle.
Use captions and written alternatives
Many people browse without sound, and some cannot hear the audio. Captions, transcripts and equivalent page content make the video useful rather than exclusive.
Keep control with the visitor
Autoplay audio is inappropriate. A muted decorative loop may support the design, but the visitor should choose when to watch or listen to the full story.
